Los Jerónimos apartments are located in one of the most prestigious residential areas in downtown Madrid. The building is located between the Prado Museum and the vast Retiro Park with its ponds, lakes, paths, gardens and lawns. Each apartment has a balcony and some have views of the Royal Academy and Los Jerónimos church. The neighborhood has sidewalk cafés, fruit and grocery shops, bakery, banks, fine restaurants, including the Balzac, a well-known restaurant down the street that specializes in Basque cuisine. Walk two blocks in either direction to the park, to the Real Jardín Botánico (Royal Botanical Gardens), to the Prado, to the pretty Plaza de Neptuno with its flowers and the Neptune Fountain at its center or to the splendid von Thyssen-Bornemisza art collection across from Prado. Madrid's most glamorous hotels are here, including the Ritz, the Palace and the Villa Real, so taxis and public transportation are easy to find. A slightly longer stroll brings you to the Puerta del Sol and to the heart of Madrid, the Plaza Mayor, the Centro de Arte Reina Sofía or the main Atocha rail station. Downstairs there is a carpeted reception area with concierge and a coffee shop next door. Upstairs there are nicely furnished modern studio, one-bedroom apartments and two-bedroom apartments. There is an elevator and air conditioning. Each apartment has a minimally equipped kitchenette, a living room with TV, telephone, and balcony. Two-bedroom apartments have two bathrooms. Extra people are accommodated on rollaway beds. Parking is available at an extra charge nearby. Final price is determined at check out when the cost is based on the current Euro exchange rate. The price listed does not include 7% IVA tax. Daily maid service is included in Daily Rates; frequency varies on longer stays. Low season is from July 21 to September 1. The balance of the year is high season. All cleaning, linens and utilities are included.
