The town and surrounding area: Camaiore is a small town in northwest Tuscany, just half an hour's drive from the medieval city of Lucca. The chic beach resorts of Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi are just 10 kilometers (6 miles) away, and the Cinqueterre, with its fabulous views, walks and boat trips, is 45 minutes up the coast. Visit the marble quarries of Carrara, where Michelangelo obtained his pure white marble, or the charming town of Pietrasanta (10 km), frequented by sculptors. Florence (1.5 hrs) and Pisa (30 min) are within easy reach, as well as the many hill towns of Tuscany, each with its unique character. To the east and north is the region of the Garfagnana Mountains, with rushing streams, waterfalls and ancient stone villages. Pisa airport is 25 minutes away; Florence airport is 90 km (60 mi.); and Rome airport is 410 km (250 mi.). Casa Versilia is located 1/2 mile uphill from Camaiore. It's a five minute drive to town and ten minutes to the beach.

The property: The house (1,830 sq ft) is located on private land in a peaceful location, surrounded by one acre of olive, fig and orange trees. Although you can not see the sea, there are views over the hills and town to the harbor of Viareggio.

This beach house is especially well suited for families with children. There is plenty of outdoor living space, including an attractive patio and loggia and a lovely garden with views. The large patios are marvelous for dining al fresco.

Ground floor:

• L-shaped living room with fireplace and dining area that opens onto the back porch (with BBQ)and also onto the kitchen
• Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher
• 3 bedrooms: one with queen bed, one with joinable twin beds, and one with bunk beds (so it is best for children).
• 1 modern bathroom with tub

A winding staircase leads to the second floor.

Second floor:

• 1 triple bedroom (3 twin beds)
• 1 bathroom with shower

Grounds:

• Large, fenced, kidney-shaped swimming pool (41 x 16.5 ft), with a shallow end for young children and a diving board in the deep end
• Pool house with bathroom (shower) and lounge area
