Surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, La Fontanella is set on 2.5 acres of beauty, peace and privacy. It is perfect for four couples or an extended family seeking close proximity to Florence. The location could not be better. Set on an idyllic hillside 15 minutes (10.8 mi.) from Florence, this elegant country house is within an hour’s drive of all of the beautiful hill towns and vineyards of Chianti. The closest village, Mercatale, with shops and restaurants, is 2 km (1.2 mi.) away. Horseback riding is found at 3 km (1.8 mi.)

The house was recently restored and the attention to detail and beauty is remarkable. The property includes the house (5700 sq. ft.), a small dependence (430 sq. ft) and one of the prettiest pools (25 x 50 ft.) in Chianti.

A short unpaved road (3/4 mile) leads to the farmhouse. The lawn is bordered with roses and olive trees, and a shaded stone patio with BBQ and pergola overlooks the pool. It is furnished with a long table, comfortable chairs for dining al fresco. A few steps downhill is the pool with hydromassage, surrounded by lounge chairs, tables and umbrellas, and a panoramic view of the Chianti hills.

Inside, La Fontanella has beautiful terracotta tile floors and beamed ceilings, and is divided into two floors.

Ground floor:
