La Casina is located on a large Chianti wine estate with several traditional farmhouses. Conveniences such as a bakery and grocery store are just a mile away in the tiny village of San Vincenzo a Torri. Montelupo Fiorentino, an important center for ceramics, is nearby (3 km). Florence is just ten miles away, with convenient bus service from a nearby town. The closest train station is in Montelupo (6 km). Although it is possible to use public transportation to visit some destinations, you will need a car at La Casina.
The landscape surrounding La Casina is dotted with medieval hill towns. Follow the Strada Chiantigiana (SS222), the ancient wine road that winds through the countryside between Florence and Siena. Visit San Gimignano, Lucca, Pisa, and the beaches of the Versilian Riviera. Facilities for golf, tennis, and horseback riding are available nearby.
Once a haybarn, La Casina has has been converted into a cozy, charming accommodation that sleeps two. We think this is a great spot for a honeymoon or romantic getwaway, or for one or two people looking for a long-term rental at any time of year.
The open plan living/dining area has a fireplace, comfortable seating and kitchenette. There is one bedroom with twin beds that can be joined on request and an en suite bathroom with shower.
Amenities include washing machine, TV, and window screens. There is a spacious lawn with a gazebo for al fresco dining or just for relaxing and enjoying the beautiful view.
The English-speaking owners live
next door in a beautiful villa and will make you feel welcome. La Casina is located on the same estate as Piccolo Peccioli, and Pecciolino. They share a large swimming pool and can be rented together for groups wishing to travel together with separate living quarters.
