Lake Garda, with its clear warm water, sunny beaches, mild climate, and Mediterranean vegetation has been a favorite spot since Roman times and has inspired poets and writers through the ages. There are many interesting little towns along the coast and up in the hills – Salò (8 km) and Gardone Riviera (4 km), and the beautiful Sirmione (37 km). This is an area rich in natural beauty, history, and culture, with good restaurants and shops. On Lake Garda you can find facilities for almost any kind of sport and activity, from windsurfing to sailing, golf to rock-climbing, bungee-jumping to trekking, from cycling to horseback riding. Families with children won’t want to miss the theme parks at Gardaland (30 minutes by ferry, then 25 km) and Caneva World (30 minutes by ferry + 15 km). There is a public swimming pool (indoor and outdoor) nearby in Salò.

Appartamento Porticciolo (7500 sq ft) is located just a few kilometers from the historical center of the lively lake resort of Toscolano Maderno. This spacious and elegant apartment is located on the Piano Nobile (2nd floor) of a three-story historic villa and is a wonderful example of 18th century Venetian architecture.

It is possible to walk into the village (500 m), where you will find bars, Tabacchi shops, and the delicious Trattoria San Carlo. A larger shopping center with pharmacy, grocery shops, post office and bank is less than one kilometer away. The closest train station is at Desenzano del Garda (27 km). The building is located on a road used only by people living in the area or going to the little porticciolo (small harbor) next to the house. During the summer season, there could be some noise from the harbor, but it should not be problematic, since the harbor is quite small.

The main entrance leads to the garden, shared with the owner, who lives upstairs, and with two other apartments located on the ground floor; however, the other guests use the garden only for access to the lake. The main part of the garden and the furnished patio with marble columns are exclusively reserved for guests of Appartamento Porticciolo. Lounge chairs and a table for dining al fresco are provided. The garden offers lovely places to relax in the shade or sunbathe by the lake.

There is parking for two cars. and additional parking is available in the public lots just in front of the building.

A splendid staircase (36 steps) leads to the Piano Nobile, where the apartment is located. Furnished with beautiful antiques, all of the rooms are decorated with frescoes dating back to 1798. Floors are antique cotto.
