This large mid-19th century villa has private gardens, private tennis court, a swimming pool, superb view and, upon request, a private mooring (at additional cost) in the harbor. The villa faces southeast, halfway up the lake, providing a view of the three arms of Lake Como as well as the beautiful mountains across the lake. The large private garden has ancient sequoias, cedars, oaks, and palms. The road runs right along the shore of Lake Como in this area, so the villa is not directly on the lake, but rather across the road from the lake.

Villa Marquis is often rented for weddings because of its romantic setting. A gate leads to the driveway and then to the garden and villa, where you will find yourself away from the lakeside traffic in a park-like setting. This is an ideal location for relaxing or taking day trips around the lake and into southern Switzerland. Bicycle rentals, motorboat rentals, waterskiing and pitch-and-putt are available 10 minutes away in Menaggio. Windsurfing is available in Menaggio, Colico and Cremia. There are several golf clubs in the area; the closest is just 20 minutes away. Horseback riding facilities are within 20 minutes.

The interior is spacious, with polished floors and a sweeping staircase. Recently restored, Villa Marquis maintains its traditional atmosphere. Each bedroom has its own bath, all of which have been remodeled in 2006.

Ground floor: Large foyer. Living room with open fireplace and doors opening onto an expansive lawn with views of Lake Como. Formal dining room. Large commercial kitchen. 1 bathroom.

Second floor: Yellow double bedroom with lake view and en suite bathroom with large Jacuzzi tub and shower. Pink double bedroom with lake view and en suite bathroom with Jacuzzi tub and shower. Green double bedroom with windows facing the garden and en suite bathroom with tub.

Third floor: Large game room with billiard table and beautiful lake view. Pink double bedroom (lake view) with extra large shower and Jacuzzi tub. Blue double bedroom with tub and shower.

Upper floor: Light blue double bedroom (lake view) with en suite bathroom with shower. Orange double bedroom (lake view), en suite bathroom with shower. Green double bedroom (garden view), en suite bathroom with tub and shower. Two extra beds can be added on this floor for an additional fee.

Amenities: air conditioning (bedrooms only), satellite TV (TV in every bedroom), pool table, ping-pong table, easel for children, telephone, computer with high-speed Internet access.

A small and simply furnished dependence with 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom is located a few meters from the villa and is available for additional guests.
