Dear Owners, We hope your summer season was successful. We have started receiving 2012 inquiries, and we find it encouraging. We previously sent a letter requesting 2012 prices. Unfortunately we have not received many of the new rates. If you have already sent your prices, please disregard this email. If you have not done so, please email your new prices as soon as possible. Likewise, if you do not intend to work with Doorways any longer, let us know so we can avoid sending any other letter for updates. We wish you a successful new booking year. Doorways Villa Vacations - 2012 Prices

Dear Villa Owner, I hope all is well with you. We are doing fine in spite of the financial meltdown, hurricane and even a small earthquake. I guess we are all in this together and we are all survivors! Now is the time when we request your prices for 2012, if you have not already sent them, and also any new photos or updates/changes to your property or policies. We are booking now for 2012. Attached is a chart of our proposed dates for each season. The properties that are most often requested are those in Tuscany and the Italian Lakes, and the villas with pools and air conditioning (good for marketing, even if guests seldom use it). Being on our online calendar is essential in making bookings efficiently and often. Please let us know if you would like to become one of our preferred properties by participating in our instant reservation system. We have some staffing changes here at Doorways. Now just Ellen Sinoff (<a href="mailto:ellens@doorwaysltd.com">ellens@doorwaysltd.com</a>) and Kit Burns (<a href="mailto:kitb@doorwaysltd.com">kitb@doorwaysltd.com</a>) are full time. Dear Owners, It is with great sadness that I announce that May 13th, 2011 will mark my last day of work here at Doorways. I spent six fantastic years, where I had the chance to meet many of you, and where I learned so much. My new adventure will bring me back to Italy, in the beautiful Puglia region. I do hope to remain in touch, and perhaps welcome you to my new home. As most of you know I handle all the availability updates, and anything related to our online calendar. Before I go, I would like to invite those of you who are not on our online calendar system to join. This will give you preferred status on our website, and will allow us to see in real time the weeks that are available. If you dont have a password and username I will be happy to help you set this up and teach you how the system works. Unfortunately we have not received many of the new prices. With this letter we ask you to send us the 2011 prices. Our goal is to have this project completed by the end of November. If you have already sent your prices, feel free to discard this letter. If you have not done so, please let us know what your new prices are, so that we can update our database and website as soon as possible. Depart from Passignano for the 20-minute boat ride to Isola Maggiore to see lace being made and to visit the Lace Museum.  4. NORCIA: History meets gastronomy in Norcia. The black truffle of Norcia is one of Italy’s most sought-after delicacies, celebrated in a festival each February. Norcia also produces some of Italy’s best lentils and is renowned for its processed pork products. In fact, the word for a pork butchery in Italian is norcineria. 5. CERAMICS: Go to Deruta, famous for the Maiolica ceramics that have been produced there for over 600 years. CHOCOLATE: Perugina is synonymous with world-class chocolates; its most popular creation is Baci ('kisses' in Italian). Nestled in its silver and blue foil wrapping, each luscious, hazelnut-filled confection comes wrapped in a romantic multilingual love note. They are the star attraction at the Eurochocolate festival held each year in Perugia. Sandri, a famous café in Perugia, is Umbria's oldest confectioner's shop and was named as one of Newsweek's "World's Best Bars," with chocolates to die for. 8. ASSISI: One of Umbria’s most visited cities, Assisi was the home of two important saints of Italian history – Saint Francis (San Francesco) and Saint Clare (Santa Chiara) – and is the destination of a million pilgrims every year. (Note: St. Clare’s in Uganda is the school Doorways helps support.) 9. TODI: One of our favorite Umbrian cities, Todi is elegant and charming, set on a hilltop overlooking the Tiber valley. Visit Piazza del Popolo, the ancient seat of the Roman forum. NATURE:  Umbria is great for hiking and wonderful for biking, and its hills are ideal horse country. July 26 2010 Dear Owner, I hope your summer season is going well and thank you for your collaboration in another challenging year. We have begun receiving requests for 2011 and are hoping to have our prices ready by the end of September. I am asking you to send Doorways your 2011 prices as soon as possible. I hope that you will consider holding your 2010 prices for next year, or even consider decreasing prices. American customers seem to be booking smaller, less expensive villas and are looking for good values. I believe that well-priced villas are what will sell in 2011 and that being priced slightly under market will make up in volume what is lacking in numbers. For the third consecutive year, I have decided not to increase Doorways markup for 2011. We have been successful in giving on-the-spot discounts from our profit margin to close sales quickly. If you are not ready to send your 2011 prices, we can offer the same program as last year: Between now and the time you send your new prices, we will offer customers the possibility to book now, pay the deposit now and the balance by December 21, 2010, and receive 2010 prices for 2011 bookings. This should encourage customers to book quickly, before prices go up. For you it will mean cash in advance (full payment in 2010 for 2011 bookings) and some additional time to consider your 2011 rates. Please let me know if you will participate in this program by sending an e-mail agreeing to the program or by sending us your 2011 rates as soon as possible. The internet has created new challenges in our business. It has become difficult to work with owners who post prices on their website that are equal to the net rates we pay. We request that you not include prices on your site, or to post a general range of prices, so that our customers do not book directly with you to save money. Whenever possible, we provide you with the clients name at the original point of inquiry so you will know they are our client if they contact you. If that happens, we ask you to refer the client back to us. Although we do not require exclusivity, we need to work together rather than compete with one another for the same clients. 2011 Prices

Le 27 juillet 2010 Cher(e) Propriétaire, Jespère que la saison a bien commencé pour vous et je vous remercie pour votre collaboration pendant une année encore assez difficile. On a déjà eu des demandes pour lannée 2011 et donc espère avoir tous les prix avant la fin de septembre. Je vous demandons alors de nous faire savoir vos prix pour lannée 2011 dès que possible. Jespère que vous garderez vos tarifs 2010 pour lannée prochaine ou même envisager une baisse de vos tarifs. Les clients américains ont actuellement tendance à réserver de plus petites propriétés qui sont aussi moins chers et ils recherchent un bon rapport qualité/prix. Je crois que les propriétés d'un prix abordable seront celles qui se loueront en 2011, et le propriétaire qui pratiquera des prix légèrement en dessous du marché pourra compenser en nombre de réservations le manque en différence de prix. Sinon, pour la troisième année consécutive, jai décidé de ne pas augmenter nos marges. Nous avons également réussi à assurer des réservations en faisant des réductions avec une baisse de nos marges selon le cas. Entre maintenant (le 27 juillet) et le moment où vous nous donnerez vos nouveaux tarifs, nous offrirons la possibilité aux clients de réserver dès maintenant, de payer lacompte immédiatement et le solde avant le 21 décembre 2010, tout en bénéficiant des tarifs de 2010 pour 2011. Cela devrait encourager les clients à réserver rapidement avant que les prix n'augmentent. Pour vous, cela vous donnera une avance d'argent en liquide (le paiement complet en 2010 pour les réservations de 2011) et du temps pour envisager vos tarifs de 2011. Je vous prie de me faire savoir par email si vous seriez daccord pour participer à ce programme ou de nous envoyer vos tarifs 2011 le plus vite possible. Sinon, linternet continue à créer de nouveaux défis pour notre business. Il est de plus en plus difficile de travailler avec des propriétaires qui affichent des tarifs sur leur site qui représente leur profit net. On vous demande donc de ne pas afficher des tarifs sur votre site ou dafficher tout simplement une gamme de prix pour que nos clients ne sont pas tenter à réserver directement avec vous afin déconomiser. Quand il est possible, on vous fournit le nom de notre client au moment de sa requête initiale pour que vous serez au courant si jamais il vous contacte directement. Voglio innanzitutto ringraziarvi per la vostra collaborazione durante un altro anno particolarmente difficile. Abbiamo cominciato a ricevere richieste di affitti per il 2011, e spero di avere tutti i Vs. aggiornamenti per la fine di settembre. Per questo vi chiediamo di inviarci i prezzi 2011 il piu presto possibile. Vi consigliamo di mantenere i prezzi 2010, o di considerare l'ipotesi di abbassarli. I clienti statunitensi anche per questanno sono alla ricerca di proprieta piu piccole e meno costose e, nel caso siano interessati a ville piu grandi, sono alla ricerca dei prezzi piu convenienti. Le ville che affitteremo con maggiore successo nel 2011 saranno quelle che offrono prezzi piu competitivi. Vi consigliamo pertanto di ridurre il costo degli affitti con l'obiettivo di aumentare il numero di locazione. Inoltre, per il terzo anno consecutivo, ho deciso di non aumentare la nostra commissione per lanno 2011. Abbiamo riscontrato anche un gran sucesso grazie agli sconti che abbiamo e avete offerto. Questo vi dara piu tempo per preparare i prezzi 2011, inoltre avrete il saldo degli affitti entro la fine dellanno corrente. Vi chiedo pertanto di mandare unemail a Doorways se vorrete aderire a questo programma. In caso decidiate di non volervi aderire, vi chiedo di mandare i nuovi prezzi al piu presto, cosi possiamo aggiornare il database. Da ultimo, abbiamo notato come internet stia creando nuove sfide per il nostro lavoro. E sempre piu difficle lavorare con quei proprietari che hanno sul proprio sito le tariffe a prezzo netto. Vi chiediamo, pertanto, di non pubblicare i Vs. prezzi netti sul sito, o almeno di pubblicarli su una scala da un prezzo minimo a uno massimo, in modo che i clienti, dopo aver scelto la villa con noi, non siano tentati di prenotare direttamente con voi per risparmiare. Ove possibile noi vi mandiamo i nomi dei clienti quando riceviamo la richiesta. In questo modo sapete gia se ci hanno contattato prima di contattare voi. Se cio dovesse accadere vi chiediamo di informarci e di reindirizzare il cliente a noi. Nonostante non abbiamo lesclusiva sugli affitti con le Vs. ville, vi chiediamo di fare cio affinche possiamo lavorare serenamente insieme, anziche essere in concorrenza per lo stesso cliente. We have begun receiving requests for 2011 and are hoping to have our prices ready by the end of September. I am asking you to send Doorways your 2011 prices as soon as possible. I hope that you will consider holding your 2010 prices for next year, or even consider decreasing prices. American customers seem to be booking smaller, less expensive villas and are looking for good values. I believe that well-priced villas are what will sell in 2011 and that being priced slightly under market will make up in volume what is lacking in numbers. For the third consecutive year, I have decided not to increase Doorways markup for 2011. We have been successful in giving on-the-spot discounts from our profit margin to close sales quickly. If you are not ready to send your 2011 prices, we can offer the same program as last year: Between now and the time you send your new prices, we will offer customers the possibility to book now, pay the deposit now and the balance by December 21, 2010, and receive 2010 prices for 2011 bookings. This should encourage customers to book quickly, before prices go up. For you it will mean cash in advance (full payment in 2010 for 2011 bookings) and some additional time to consider your 2011 rates. Please let me know if you will participate in this program by sending an e-mail agreeing to the program or by sending us your 2011 rates as soon as possible. The internet has created new challenges in our business. It has become difficult to work with owners who post prices on their website that are equal to the net rates we pay. We request that you not include prices on your site, or to post a general range of prices, so that our customers do not book directly with you to save money. Whenever possible, we provide you with the clients name at the original point of inquiry so you will know they are our client if they contact you. If that happens, we ask you to refer the client back to us. Although we do not require exclusivity, we need to work together rather than compete with one another for the same clients.
